Paul Clair joined Ogletree Deakins as Counsel in 2022.
He advises major international groups as well as French private, public and semi-public companies in both advisory and litigation matters, advising them on all phases of the employment relationship with their employees, from recruitment to termination of contract.
He has developed in-depth expertise in the definition of employment strategies and the implementation of “hot” restructuring operations (collective redundancies for economic reasons, redundancy plans, negotiation of collective redundancy agreements) and “cold” restructuring operations (negotiation of GEPC/GPEC agreements), as well as the sale and transfer of businesses, on behalf of French and international groups.
Paul also advises a large number of French companies on social measures aimed at developing their competitiveness (reorganisation of working hours, profit-sharing agreements, redeployment of staff within a geographical area).
At the beginning of his career, Paul worked for almost a year in a law firm specialising in immigration and international mobility in New York, then for 5 years in a law firm specialising in labour law and for over 7 years in the labour law department of August Debouzy as a senior associate.
Paul is a member of the Association des Avocats d’Entreprise en droit social (Avosial) and leads sessions on employment law and case law for the Club du Droit Social.
