Pascale Ernst, Attorney Of Counsel at Ogletree Deakins is the contributor for France of the Lexology annual report “Pensions & Retirement plans” 2023. Lexology GTDT is a comparative tool of domestic laws and regulations.

A quick reference guide enables side-by-side comparison of local insights, including into the statutory and regulatory framework, state pension provisions, occupational pension schemes, compliance and enforcement, plan changes and termination, fiduciary responsibilities, legal challenges, future prospects, and current hot topics.

In France, the new Pension Bill of 14 April 2023, which modifies the minimum legal age to retire, applies to senior staff born on September 1, 1961 or later, who had planned to retire at age 62. As a result, the Pension Bill has an immediate impact, and it forces employees and employers to reassess all their HR policies and strategies in a very short timeframe.

In this report, Pascale Ernst analyses the main measures contained in the pension and the significant impacts for companies.
